The 10th teaching observation and seminar of the College of Horticulture was successfully held in Changshu from July 11 to July 12, 2018. Fang Jinggui, deputy director of the college of horticulture, Han Jian, deputy secretary of the party committee, Wang Kangcai, teaching supervisors, members of the teaching steering committee member of the school of horticulture and all young teachers participated in this activity.
On the afternoon of July 11, all the teachers visited and studied in the Changshu New Rural Development Research Institute of Nanjing Agricultural University. Our school and the local government of Changshu held an industry-university-research cooperation and exchange meeting to discuss the transformation of scientific research achievements of the College of Horticulture and the development of agricultural industry of Changshu.
On the morning of July 12, the seminar of teaching observation was officially started. At the opening ceremony, Fang Jinggui stressed that the quality of teaching from the first class is the fundamental, the seminar is to improve the view of teaching and hope that young teachers will take an active part in all kinds of teaching project from school and college, and set more teaching achievements.
Afterwards, associate professor Zhang Qinghai and professor Wang Liangju presented two excellent teaching demonstration courses for young teachers, which played a very good role in guiding young teachers to make a good lesson. Then, 15 young teachers from the College of Horticulture taught classes in turns. Members of the teaching steering committee and teaching supervisors of the college discussed and exchanged the teaching contents, and proposed many valuable opinions and suggestions to young teachers from the aspects of courseware making, lesson preparation, teaching organization and teaching methods. Five superiors of the teaching competition were: Guo Min, Ma Yuanchun, Lu Suwen, Jiang Yifan and Huang Feiyi. At the end of the meeting, all the teachers held a symposium on the undergraduate teaching work of our school, and the members of the teaching steering committee shared a lot of teaching experience. Young teachers also raised some questions on some links of the undergraduate teaching, and all of the questions were answered.
